DheyaTech Secures ₹43 Crore for Gas Turbine Engine Production
Bengaluru-based DheyaTech raised ₹43 crore on September 17, 2026, to scale production of small gas turbine engines. The funding, led by Avaana Capital, will support establishing a testing facility and accelerate deployment of its technologies.

DheyaTech, an aerospace startup based in Bengaluru, has successfully raised ₹43 crore in a funding round led by Avaana Capital on September 17, 2026. This funding will enable the company to enhance the production capabilities of its indigenous small gas turbine engines, establish an integrated testing facility, and expedite the commercial deployment of its propulsion and energy technologies. Founded in 2018 by aerospace engineers with experience at prominent turbomachinery firms, DheyaTech aims to transition from technology development to production readiness. Flight trials of its engines are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, with confirmed orders from both Indian and global original equipment manufacturers.
The development of small gas turbine engines is a complex area within aerospace engineering, requiring expertise in turbomachinery design, combustion, materials, precision manufacturing, engine controls, and testing. Historically, India has relied heavily on imported technology for these engines. DheyaTech is working to build indigenous capabilities through a comprehensive engineering model, where its in-house team manages the entire product development chain, from design to testing. The company has also developed a proprietary adaptive engine control unit (ECU), enhancing its capabilities in the electronic control of gas turbine systems.
In collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, DheyaTech is advancing hydrogen propulsion and power-generation technologies. This includes a hydrogen-based flexi-fuel combustor for its 60-kW turbogenerator and a hydrogen blower that has received ATEX safety certification, an internationally recognized standard for equipment designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Gurushankara K C, CEO and co-founder of DheyaTech, emphasized that the new funding will aid in increasing manufacturing capacity and enhancing engagement with customers to accelerate deployment timelines.
Additionally, DheyaTech is pursuing independent airworthiness certification for its gas turbine engines under the guidance of the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This certification process is critical for deployment in mission-critical aerial applications, where propulsion systems must meet stringent standards for reliability, performance, and safety. The company is the first private entity in India to seek this independent certification under the CEMILAC-DRDO framework.
Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing is also involved as a strategic manufacturing partner, supporting DheyaTech in the precision manufacturing of gas turbine components. Anil Kumar Puthan, chairman and managing director of Unimech, expressed commitment to continue supporting DheyaTech through its precision manufacturing capabilities. As DheyaTech progresses, it aims to establish itself as a leader in the aerospace sector by developing mission-critical technologies that are strategically important for India.
